My practice is about looking and a total connection with the material of paint. It’s a love of turning things of the world into paint. I approach each painting with “I wonder ...” Every painting is a new experiment. I’m curious about what I see around me and what it would look like if I painted it.

 

I set myself problems to solve about the relationship of the physical matter of paint and the visible world. How many ways can you make paint look like the world of things?

I am trying to find the essence of what I’m looking at. What I can leave out and what must be shown.
